Crochet Watermelon or CandyCorn Purse
Crochet this fun purse just the right size to hold your notions or shopping trip necessities. Learn great crochet tips and tricks for a fabric that doesn't require a lining and an easy crochet application of the closing zipper. You can even make a fun tiny matching zipper charm or marker.
Crochet in the round, with simple crochet stitches to make this fun project in your favorite cotton yarn. Samples were made with our Cascade Ultra Pima Cotton (Nifty cotton is also an option). Plan your own embellishments. Zipper charms are made with our Circulo crochet thread. We will also learn about adding a zipper with no sewing. Pattern provided with class. | Skill Details: | Must know basic crochet stitches, single crochet, double crochet, slip stitch. We will learn special increases and decreases. We will also learn about adding a zipper with no sewing. |
| Requirements: | Pattern provided with class. One skein of your favorite cotton yarn in each color for your choice of purse in either worsted or DK weight. Each purse uses just under 200 yds. Crochet hook size E or F (3.5 - 3.75 mm). We will use a hook slightly smaller than required for the yarn, you may bring several sizes to check the firmness of your fabric. Purse has a 7 inch matching zipper, but with sewing thread and needle we can learn a new technique for closing the end of a longer zipper. Plan your own embellishments whether buttons or embroidery floss and needle. Stitch markers are a must. |
