Knit Owl Mitts
Have a Hoot knitting this fingerless glove pattern that features a simple cable pattern that results in a pair of cute owl. These gloves are a great quick project for first time using double pointed needles (DPN's). This project is knit in the round with increases for the thumb gusset, and the cabling is charted. Cuff and top of glove can be any length you wish. You can even add tiny beads for the eyes.
Sample was knit with Cascade Pacific which made them not too heavy, and used less than one skein. Be sure to sign up to get Barbara's sheet of tips and tricks on sizing for knitting these gloves that would make a great gift.

Knit with less than 200 yds of a worsted weight yarn with size U.S. 8 and 6 DPN's . More experienced knitters may want to try magic loop method or 2 circular needles to knit two at a time.
You will also need stitch markers, a cable needle and a small bit of scrap yarn as a stitch holder.
