Beginning Knitting with Gloria
Ready to learn to knit? Now is the time! This class is designed for the beginner. You will make a lovely scarf that you can wear yourself or gift to someone you care for. The scarf pattern uses basic stitches in a variety of ways to create several designs.
You will learn knit, purl and how to read a pattern while knitting a lovely sampler scarf. Pattern is provided with class.
Required at least 400 yard of a worsted weight yarn. Please do not select to dark of a color for learning.
Knitting needles size 8 or 9, bamboo needles are preferred in the shorter 9 inch length.
You will also need locking (open pin type) stitch markers.

| Requirements: | You will need : 400-450 yards of worsted weight yarn; it can be wool, acrylic, or blends. Please avoid black, navy, and fuzzy yarns as these make it more difficult to see your stitches. US 8 or 9 knitting needles. 9-inch straight needles are a good choice for a beginner. Stitch markers--quick locking (safety pin style) are recommended. Other: Highlighter tape is helpful to keep your place on the pattern, but not required. A darning needle to weave in ends when you are finished. |
