Crochet Summer Hat
Cotton summer hat with a brim is an easy first time crochet in the round project. Learn some tips for keeping your stitch count and special stitches for embellishing your hat. Everyone will want one, a crush-able hat in a machine washable cotton is great for gardeners, fishermen, kayakers, etc.
Hat requires approx. 350-425 yds. of a dk weight cotton like Cascade Ultra Pima. You may also use a worsted weight cotton like Cascade Nifty Cotton and Splash. Any washable cotton and cotton/linen blend hold up well. No milliners wire is used for this hat.
We will use a crochet hook several sizes smaller than recommended on the yarn label, so bring a few sizes of crochet hooks. The firmness of the work will help make the hat brim shape-able. Size D or E for dk weight, size F or G for worsted weight yarn.
Pattern can be provided or bring any pattern for a summer bucket hat you'd like to try.
You will need a full pack of locking stitch markers.
