Sweet Honesty Shawl
This lovely shawl has an easy to learn repeating pattern and is worked from the bottom point upwards. This means you can just stop when its the size you want, with any weight yarn you like to work with. A yarn that will block well is recommended. Knit it up on fingering yarn and small needles for a delicate effect or on large needles for a different, more open effect. Use heavier yarn and make a thick and cushy wrap that features an interesting more textural surface. You choose!
This pattern has an easy to learn repeating motif once you complete the set up rows. The motif resembles the coins on the money plant also known as Sweet Honesty or Lumaria annua.

Any weight yarn that will block well in a lighter color tonal or heathered will work best to show off the motif. Heavily variegated are not recommended as pattern will get lost. Worsted weight approx 700 yds, U.S. Size 8 -10 needles. DK weight approx 800 yds U.S. Size 6 -8 needles. Fingering weight approx 800+ yds U.S. Size 5 -7 needles. Circular needle with an interchangeable cable is recommended as the stitch count increases. Swatching with your yarn selection will help you determine best needle size. |
