Learn all the tips and tricks for the basic braid of Kongo Gumi while making a braid for a key chain, jewelry, purse strap, or even as a gift wrap, anywhere you can use a cord.  Learn the basic moves and variations, sizing with different fiber materials, making a tassel end and lots of ideas for jewelry finishes.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: No prior skill needed.
Requirements: Please purchase a disk, or disk kit at the shop. Cotton threads works best for your first braid, please have at least 2 colors or up to 4. If using variegated, be sure to have a solid color to go with it. Thickness of your fiber will determine thickness of your braid. Circulo Anne is great, you can also use DMC Perle cottons, embroidery floss, rat tail/mouse tail, or any smooth fiber.
