Beginning Lace Knitting Scarf and Hat

This is an easy to learn lace pattern called Fishtail Lace, a great next step for those who have completed their beginner project. Picture is of sample swatch after blocking. Scarf is on display in the shop.
We will begin with a scarf, the pattern is written and charted. We will cast on the scarf during the first class and learn all the basics for knitting a lace pattern, how increases and decreases create the lace motif, and tips for reading charts.  We can then cast on for a matching slouch hat in the second class, learning about knitting this simple lace pattern in the round.  This will be a four week class to provide enough class time assistance with both projects. What a great gift idea! You may be asked to make more than one set!
