Christmas Lights or Fall Leaves Shawl
Easy garter stitch shawl but with a few short rows thrown in to create a string of Christmas lights or fall leaves, depending on your color choices. Some are even calling them colorful lollipops that are fun to knit! A great way to learn on your first short row project. This pattern is very flexible, knitting only for a small kerchief or a larger shawl with added yardage of yarn. An easy knit that will have you ready for the Holidays. Great use of any sock yarn left overs or the wonderful mini skeins you've been saving for something special.

| Skill Details: | Must know knit and purl. This class will include increases, decreases, short rows over just seven stitches at a time, and adding life lines. Short rows occur in small spurts, with several rows of plain garter stitch in between, so this is a very fun knit. |
| Requirements: | Pattern: Leftie by Martina Behm @$7.50. Please purchase pattern in advance of class. Size 5 Circular Needle. Interchangeable is best as a longer cord will be needed as the shawl grows. Requires main color of sock or fingering, 400yds. Sample has 7 mini skeins of 80 yds each in various colors, but you may use fewer colors to add up to about 400 yds. Great use of sock weight leftovers. You can also add a carry along of a thin metallic sparkle for the lights/leaf shape. Stitch markers and a darning needle for weaving in ends are a must. (due to all the color changing) |
