Filet Lace Crochet

A great next step for beginner crochet. Filet is a versatile lace pattern and technique that is great for learning to use and make your own crochet charts. Filet stitch can be used as a base for everything from baby blankets to market bags or other more advanced techniques. Two projects to choose from for this class, a heart motif hot mat, or a scarf with load of tips for embellishments.  Even experienced crocheters will gets lots of great tips and tricks from this class. As time allows we can work on designing a pattern, crocheting words or sayings and making a base for a wiggle crochet project.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Must know basic crochet stitches, single crochet, double crochet, slip stitch.
Materials Included: Handouts provided
Requirements: Cotton or 100% wool recommended for a hot mat. Any non fuzzy yarn in a DK or worsted weight can be substituted. Sample was made with Cascade Pima Cotton in 2 colors with a size G hook. You may use our Circulo cotton threads if you are comfortable with a smaller hook. Bring a range of crochet hooks for yarn selected. Stitch markers are a must.
