Illusion Knitting
An easy knitting technique that creates hidden images in the fabric
Learn the tips and tricks to Illusion knitting. Make a spa cloth or a more ambitious project using this simple striping technique that creates a hidden image. We start with a simple image of your choice; heart, cancer ribbon, Greek key, butterfly. There are many more complicated images available and we will learn the tips and tricks for creating your own image.
Pattern will be provided with class. Teacher will have several motif options available.
Requires 2 yarns with high contrast of color. Think a light and a dark. Yarns of the same brand/weight work best. Can use either worsted or DK for our class project. Cotton for a spa cloth is best.
Knitting needles should be 1 to 2 sizes smaller than recommended for the yarn selected. (Images look best when knit at a firmer gauge)
Markers are a must. Highlighter tape is helpful for reading the chart.
