Mohair Scarf on a Rigid Heddle Loom

Oh yes you can weave a lace weight mohair!  Learn that it is not difficult to weave with fine, fuzzy or delicate yarns.  See the sample in the shop. We can add a few warps of another yarn for stability while still maintaining the lightness of the lace.
If this is your first time warping, please feel free to join the class, you will warp and weave with a more stable yarn for your first time. (Choose a nice wool, acrylic, or cotton in a dk weight.)

Please bring a few paper grocery bags for your warp packing on the loom, as well as the warping tools that came with your loom.
You can also see Dottie about using a loom from the shop.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Learn to warp and weave on a rigid heddle loom with special techniques added for easier weaving. If you have warped before, you can warp and weave the lace weight mohair.
Requirements: If this is your first time warping your loom, we will select a different fiber of a dk or worsted weight for your first time weaving on a rigid heddle. You will need at least 300 yards of lace weight mohair. We will add in a novelty yarn to add stability to the fabric, no more than 150 yds. Both yarns will be used in both warp and weft requiring 2 shuttles.
