Hello friends! We are headed to Mt. Dora for a fiber retreat!
This will be the Second of hopefully many episodes in a series of adventures with your Knit and Stitch friends and family. Please see the details and due dates below.
Setting:
This “yarn” is set at the beautiful Lakeside Inn located in Mt. Dora, Florida during a short fiber retreat. Our Theme this year is Christmas in July!

Thursday, July 16-Sunday, July 19, 2026

Alexander Room
Hotel Accommodations:
Single $203 Thursday, $245 Friday and Saturday (Total $693 which includes taxes and resort fee) OR Double (shared room) $102 Thursday, $122.50 Friday and Saturday (Total $347 per person which includes taxes and resort fees).
Meals:
Thursday--Late night snack of Milk and Cookies prepared by Lakeside Inn.
Friday--Breakfast on your own, Meeting Break Snacks, Plated Bistro Lunch, and Dinner on your own.
Saturday--Breakfast on your own, Meeting Break Snacks, Boxed Lunch, Buffet Dinner prepared by Lakeside Inn
Sunday--Buffet Breakfast prepared by Lakeside Inn.
Plans:
- We will have access to the Alexander Room Thursday 3-9 pm, Friday and Saturday 6 am-9 pm, and 6 am-11am Sunday for fiber crafting, visiting, etc.
- Meals will be served in the Alexander Room as well.
- There are other places in the hotel that you will be able to sit and knit/crochet, if you choose to spend some time away from the group.
- Carolyn Edgar of Swan City Yarns will join us for the retreat! She is coming up with two color ways for our adventure--one will be a Mt. Dora theme and the second for Christmas in July!! She is also offering some class experiences, if you are interested.
- We will brings some looms, spindles, and a spinning wheel for anyone who wants to give it a try.
- In addition to Carolyn’s classes, we will offer some informal learning opportunities for those who are interested. There will be a nominal fee of $10-$15 for materials IF you choose to participate in these.
- Of course there will be some ice-breaking shenanigans and some other fun activities, but we are mostly thinking of relaxation knitting/crocheting/spinning/weaving with friends old and new!
- Mt. Dora, of course, offers plenty of fun shopping opportunities, if you are interested in that.
Pricing:
The prices below are for the hotel accommodations, meeting room, snacks and meals, gratuity, taxes, and fees. Added costs would be: potential materials’ fees, meals on Thursday, breakfasts on Friday and Saturday mornings, dinner on Friday and whatever transportation costs you incur traveling to and from Mt. Dora.

There will be a non-refundable deposit required at registration based on deposits that the shop is required to make which are non-refundable

**Please note that a Double has two double beds--not queen beds--if you choose to have 3 or 4 to a room to reduce the accommodations’ cost, you may not be as comfortable as you’d like. If you wish to have more than two to the room, please speak with Dottie about pricing.
