Join us on Tuesday evening to knit, crochet or weave our latest donation projects with yarn that has been given to our group. We make hats, scarves, fingerless mitts for children and adults along with baby blankets, all of which go to local charities in Brevard, around Florida or to other shelters that we hear about. Another fun project we work on is making Faye's Bears that are donated to first responders to provide comfort in situations involving children. Our group is fun loving and welcoming, hope you will stop by to sit and knit, crochet or weave with us!

The class includes warping the loom and starting to weave a scarf. Finished size is 7" x 63" plus fringe. It is a hands-on weaving class for a person who has some experience weaving on the rigid heddle loom. It is not expected that the weaving project be completed during the class. Use your own loom or rent a loom from the shop.

Create a tote while learning basic crochet stitches, Granny Square concepts and design. Skills learned: reverse single crochet, adjustable ring, blocking squares, and joining blocks. Techniques to change colors on start of new row within the border and how to embed tails as you work. Options for changing the bottom and handle to stripes will also be covered. Information on making a removable lining to make the bag more versatile will be covered in the last session.

Create a tote with 4 different size squares using Granny square techniques with a puff stitch for extra texture. Skills learned: puff stitch, reverse single crochet, foundation single crochet, adjustable ring, blocking squares, and joining different size blocks. The pattern and sample use a color changing yarn, but we will also learn techniques to change colors on start of new row if you're doing a scrappy look and how to embed tails as you work. Information on making a removable lining to make the bag more versatile will be covered in the last session.
